As a group we have carried out different types of primary and secondary market research to find information and attract our target audience by meeting their wants. Our secondary research on thrillers and audience allowed my group to understand who may our audience would be and what are conventional to thrillers.
We all agreed that if we carried out a primary research the findings would be more reliable and accurate. After creating a questionnaire which included 17 questions and we gave 30 participants to fill out. This method enabled us to get an effective and quick audience feedback which was reliable. I have presented the questionnaire below.
From the findings we believe that more males watch thriller films and females prefer to watch Romantic comedy instead of thrillers. The age group that most watch thrillers are 15+. This was one reason why we tried to aim our thriller to this age group an made sure that we were careful with the things that we have used in our thriller. For example there is no reference to drugs or alcohol. However, from the open questions we think that thrillers are suitable for both genders.
Moreover, ethnicity wise, thrillers tend to portray a diverse culture and is obtainable for peace of all occupations.
Creating a questionnaire allowed my group to collect information face to face which this method allowed the group to save a lot of time as we knew what people enjoy about thrillers and this has had effect on what we have created.

One question that I have asked in the questionnaire was 'What is a good location for a thriller film?' this allowed my group to identify what the target audience like the location to be. A large number of participants agreed that having a thriller film in a house was good and some people made comments about how this made it more realistic and they could relate themselves to the character. Moreover, the thriller production that we have created takes part in a house. This allowed the audience to be more interested to watch the thriller.
